Social networking sites made the world closer- and more revealing. We use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, Plurk to connect to people and let them know about the latest things about us.

From time to time, we use our mobile devices to reveal what’s on our mind. Whatever our purpose in posting an online status, the status are quite revealing to what we are going through. Some people throw you sympathy while some may just hate you just because of your status on Facebook.

Here is a list of the top 10 things that you should never post on your social networking profile:

8. “Just bought a new of Rolex watch”. Bragging on Facebook or Twitter is a very big no-no. When you do, people may respond on either way “ohhh, he is rich, let us rob him” or “he did not still pay his debt” or “Poor, I have two!”

7. “Mr. Foo is a fool!” When expressing a negative thing, please do not name a name! It is unethical for you to express how you hate someone online with a name. The best thing to do is to write a letter to the person about the problem or else you will be receiving a letter from the court alleging you to be destroying one’s public image online.

6. “Love is in the eye of the beholder”- Online users are your people who are fond of lively things. They do not need to hear the things they have been hearing from their grandmothers or parents. Statements being repeated everyday are not a hit online.

5. “My boss again!” Work things are limited only inside the office. When you have problem with your boss, talk to him. When you post your problem online, the world won’t try solving your problem. The worst is that you can even get fired for posting malicious things online.

4.  “Just robbed a mansion.” Why post illegal things that you have done? Are you giving a hint to police that you were one who took your neighbor’s brand new laptop? Posting illegal doings online is just being ignorant.

5. “10 PM: dated Diana, 11PM: slept with Dianara” In whatever aspect of life, kiss-and-tell guys are the people who must be killed immediately! Stop posting your being a flirt! Do it using porn sites. Not on social networking sites.

3. “Please don’t text me, I am busy reviewing for our board exam.” When posting, common sense is most needed. Illogical posts like this can only make the blood temperature of Miriam Defensor-Santiago rise. Are you really studying?

2. “My ex is a crap!” Many people really cannot move on with their past relationships. Thus online, they always talk about bitter things about the anatomy, philosophy and chemistry of their ex. People, leave your ex alone. Do not haunt your ex with your online status.

1. “I look like Brad Pitt.” Narcissists are everywhere online.  It is as if they are the best looking people, or the sexiest girl next door when in fact, they are the number one client of Adobe Photoshop.
