In 2008, Bryan Bala-on, a native of Impasugong, Bukidon, killed and cooked an eagle. He was found guilty of the crime and was sentenced to pay P100, 000 plus imprisonment.

Now, the Philippine Eagle Foundation represented by Jennifer Ramos, is protesting against the light penalty given to the Lumad. Philippine Eagle Foundation wants the Lumad man suffer more, for being poor.

The “victim” eagle was part of the protected species in the country.

On the other hand, the real victim is part of the indigenous group Lumad who depend on animals in the wilderness to eat.

I call the group PEF brainless. No brains at all. Sarah Palin would love to accompany me cursing this group.

For them, it is better for all Lumads to die as long as eagles in the country are alive. It is okay for all the Lumads in the southern Philippines to starve, as long as long eagles are unharmed.

The Lumad man has suffered already for what he has done. And now, the conservationists want more.

Only the stupid conservationists, who claim they are doing good things for the nation, think that way. They do not understand the situation of these Lumads because these conservationists eat processed meat dishes served by their maids. They do not starve because they have money to buy a McDonald's meal and a cup of Starbucks coffee. They do not go to the forest to look for meals because they are provided already in the city.

The Lumad man has no defense at all. The law states that he should suffer for being hungry. He should have eaten other food.

Thus, it would more humane to starve to death than to eat an eagle.

Let’s all follow what this brainless foundation is saying. Let all those eagle-eating Lumads die. And let all the eagles live. Mabuhay na naman ang mga tanga! I am cursing, manen. I am always angry at people who exchange their egoistic advocacy to lives of people.
