Rape Cases

Rape case in the Cordilleras is now rising. In my home village, a new sexual abuse case was recorded months ago. A father allegedly abused his young daughter one night on their bed while his wife was sleeping.

God bless the magnificent mother who is now fighting to put her husband behind the bars. God bless also the konsentidor parents of the suspect!

My folks cannot talk about the issue in public. Rape is a perfect taboo in any place. Conservative people warn others not to talk about it. Discussing the issue publicly is believed to hurt the reputation of some officials and of the rotting village.

My own folks who shut their mouth up can afford to save the reputation of ineffective politicians, while allowing more and more women to be harassed and abused!

Thus, even an official has the guts to abuse his own neighbor of more than 20 years. This is one of the worst ever. It is as gruesome as the murder of a teenager inside the compound where the police station is located.

And talking about policemen, overweight cops are under fire today. They need to lose weight or else they receive penalties. That’s good move. Even the Pakistani government is working to make their cops sexy.

The Philippine government should also warn those cops who have more than one wife. They should not womanize, unless they get a license from Willie Revillame.

Peace in Mountain Province

Apayao and my home Mountain Province are the two most peaceful provinces in the region. Congratulations to both. Good job bad elements for going to Baguio City to do your modus!

Historically, Mountain Province was a chaotic place. Bontoks (east MP) were known headhunters who kept on scaring Applai and Kankanaey tribes in the west MP.

Now, Bontoks love two things:

a.    rallying against the administration of Mountain Province State Polytechnique College (MPSPC), and;

b.    polluting the Chico River.
