(Updated January 25, 2013 1:07PM): This morning, we received an SMS saying that Charles Peng-as Ansibey is already with God. Charles, more known as “Ambot” in Ambasing, Sagada was a leukemia patient.

During his battle, many of us supported him with monetary donations and prayers for him and his family. Tens of his batch mates and former schoolmates at Sagada National High School organized events to raise funds for his medication.

Now, Charles is no longer with us. His remains are at the Benguet General Hospital morgue and will be transferred to his Sagada home later at 11PM.

I would like to personally thank all people who helped us during the fund raising campaigns last year. There were strangers living in far areas, but took effort to contact us because they just wanted to help.

The thought of having these good Samaritans is completely heart-melting and I hope that God will bless the world with more of their kind. Thanks; we do not have to mention your names.

Let's take a look at his page in their graduation book (courtesy of Lexa Capuyan).

Goodbye Charles, 'till we meet again.

The last time I exchanged messages with him, he sent me an email containing this thank you note:

“Through this letter, I would like to emphasize my deepest gratitude for all of you who have shown their generous support in so many ways which had allowed me to recover from pain and be healthy again.

Attitudes like yours made me realize that God is always at good to show that I'm not alone facing this kind of struggle in life. During those times that I'm down, I'm really glad that I have around these good people (you) trying to ease the pain and gives me hope.

Those days that I'm in the hospital is definitely the worst days in my life and I managed to gain strength to overcome it because of your aid.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much for your great help and support that you had given me. I'm happy to say that I’m doing well already to keep moving forward in attaining our goals and wishes in life and that would not have been possible without you guys!

I only pray that in all of these things that you've done, God will always be there to support and guide us.

Again, thank you and God Bless!!!”

I would like to dedicate this song to everyone who has spent a moment with Charles physically or in thought.
