Yesterday was very meaningful and productive (not reproductive). A pair of personality and leadership development specialists- Stephen and Zig,  came to Loakan for another session of discovering and rediscovering our potentials as employees of New Media Services.

We were asked to answer a couple of questions and came up with four groups representing the four types of major leadership behaviors: The Controller, The Analyst, The Promoter and The Supporter.

It was weird. I was the only person who fell under the category of The ANALYST.

As the only person in the group, I did all of these things:

Five Things I (instead of WE) Like to Do

1.    Reading non-fiction materials like business magazines and autobiographies
2.    Watching classic movies like Romeo and Juliet and Titanic
3.    Listening to soft music, such as Celtic songs
4.    Eating out in a quiet place/restaurant
5.    Creating plans for a business or anything

Five Things I Don’t Like to Do

1. Hear noise
2. Attend big parties wherein I do not know most of the attendees
3. Go somewhere unprepared
4. Doing things without a reason
5. Get into a fight or anything violent

Five Strengths That I Possess

1.     I’m much guided when doing something so less failures and less accidents are expected
2.    I can predict outcomes
3.    I am slow but sure
4.    I stick to the plan or decision even with external forces
5.    I am more effective in communicating messages

Five Needs for Improvement

1.    Fast decision-making abilities
2.    Sense of humor
3.    Human relations
4.    Flexibility to changes
5.    Accepting new things

According to the specialists, the motivation of an Analyst is Data and Structure. For Controllers, their motivation is results. For promoters, it’s the fun. And for supporters, it’s the relationship (so touchy!).

This is not my first time I underwent such behavior categorization. There was one time when our big group was divided into eight different behavior categories. There were only two of us in our category (shall I say I am unique?).
