Twenty-fourteen has no choice but to cooperate with me as I am preparing everything to travel in the Philippines and to other countries in Asia to reward myself for being extremely hardworking and energetically alive!
Everything is actually ready: my passport, luggage, itinerary, and my emotions! The only thing I need to complete the list is .....................money which I am working on at this very moment.
Traveling To Get a Taste of Asia
People say that before we explore the outside world, we should check on what our country can offer us. I know there is more beauty to see in our country than the view of those ugly pigs in government offices and the colorful dirt along our rivers.
I was born and raised in Sagada, a top destination in the country. It took me years to explore and rediscover my own hometown. And now is the time to see the beauty of other towns. Also, now is the town for other towns to see my beauty!
What's exacly on my list?
Since I have been staying in the mountains (16 years in Sagada and 7+ years in Baguio City) for more than two decades, I am excited to spend days of my life wandering on the beaches of the world-renowned Boracay.
I don't know how it feels to step on white sand. All I know is how cool it is to stand on the vegetated soil of the Cordilleras. I never experienced island hopping. But I have lots of stories about hopping from one pine tree to another. Boracay must be another paradise that has been waiting for my arrival!
In preparation to my Boracay adventure, I promise to bust off my baby fats. I know have been growing sidewards because of my increased food consumption. Wearing just boxers showing more skin on the beach of Boracay is a good motivation for me to change some parts of my lifestyle. In short, I cannot afford to go to Boracay not sexy!
Puerto Princesa (Palawan)
Puerto Princesa is perfect, as I can see on TV and in pictures. It has been automatically enlisted to my wishlist when the Underground River appeared on Big Brother as the country campaigned for the tourist destination to be voted as a top Wonder of Nature.
Everything about Puerto Princesa is fascinating: the natural creations, the friendliness of people, the cleanliness of areas and the wonderful weather. No wonder its getting much publicity (and my attention)!
When I tour the Underground River, I will be listening to the very enchanting music of Enya to add effects to the spiritual bonding with nature. And what could be more magical if you are beside me touring the river!
I am extremely interested in Cebu. In fact, Cebu is more interesting that Hawaii. It is not about the "religious" structures that make me curious about Cebu.
The real deal with Cebu is its prominence as the producer of the country's most talented actors and singers. Why is it that Manilyn Reynes, Isabel Oli, Pilita Corales, Vina Morales, Sheryn Regis, Marco Alcaraz, Jackie Lou Blanco and other talented people from Cebu!
I guess Angelina Jolie, Celine Dion, Robert Downing Jr. and Robert Pattinson were actually born in Cebu. Or they must have Cebuano great great grandparents who were related to Lapu-Lapu!
Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
I’m just a green-minded mammal so I won’t be dwelling on how green Kuala Lumpur is. The fact that millions and millions of people visit Kuala Lumpur, it means it is not the green-ness of the place that attracts people.
I want to visit Kula Lumpur's Central Market to have a better understanding of Malaysia’s craft and trade. I want to see what is Pop and what is Miss there.
I have hear a lot Filipinos entering the Malaysian territory illegaly. I would love to see what's in Malaysia that our brothers take risks to go there. Is life easier there? Is the food there better than our sardinas and taho?
Of course, I should not leave Kuala Lumpur without trying banana leaf-dining to see its difference with our boodle-fight.
Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to go to China. Blame the movies of Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh for this.
As a believer that Filipinos are third-generation Chinese people, traveling to Shanghai
brings me back to my origin. I want to see different Buddhist temples and gongs in Shanghai. More than that, I want to experience how it's like to be a Chinese man. Thus, I need to learn how to use chop sticks!
Since I am but an opportunist, I would love to step on the Shanghai World Financial Center and check on different career openings there.
I know I want to reach other cities like Dublin (Ireland), London (United Kingdom), Bangkok (Thailand), New York (United States), Montreal (Canada), Victoria (Australia) and Brasilia (Brazil). But I’ll start off by appreciating the beautiful cities of the Philippines and raising funds for my airfare.
Did you know that AirAsia Zest now flies from Manila to the following most visited domestic and international destinations?
Philippines: Cebu, Davao, Kalibo (Boracay), Puerto Princesa, Tagbilaran, Cagayan De Oro
International: Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Kota Kinabalu (Malaysia), Shanghai (China) and Incheon (South Korea)
Recently, AirAsia Zest Chairman Mikee Romero announced that Zest Air is now flying with AirAsia, known for being the world’s best low coast airline.
According to him, “with our alliance, we are well positioned to offer our guests the strength of our combined network of domestic and international routes and unrivalled daily low fares, proving a world class travel experience that every Filipino deserves.”
Undeniably, the changes in flight locations and name allow the airline to give better service. With the move of AirAsia Zest to NAIA Terminal 4, we were just given another alternative to enjoy low cost airline service. Here’s some proof why the new AirAsia Zest, the Right Way to Fly, is a dear friend to us!
